Membership has it's privileges

MakerBar is a member supported organization, meaning we depend on your help to operate. We're a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, which means your donations are tax deductible. 

Many of our events are free to the public. Our classes, however, require a class materials + participation fee for non-members.  All of the participation fees for classes and events are waived for MakerBar members in good standing. Membership offers various benefits that are discussed below. 

Becoming a member provides you with 24/7 access to our tools, equipment and workspace outside of public training, workshops, and classes. As a MakerBar member you also have a voice in how the organization is run. Members are encouraged to hold events and teach classes, but it's not manditory. Please note, guests must sign liability waivers and may not use tools unsupervised. 

We have several tiers of membership.

Associate membership is pay-what-you-want membership that gives you an email address and access to our member mailing list, chat system, and other online systems we give to members, and lets us know that you support our mission.

Full membership is $110 a month, and gives you all the benefits of associate membership, 24-hour access, a vote at member meetings, and bin space to store small items.

Student membership is open to all full-time students and provides most of the perks of full membership, but at a discount to help with student budgets. Email membership@makerbar.com for details.
